Some people say "Love is blind", they say. for love to flourish, our eyes must be closed to seeing the ugly truth. Our ears must be plugged up to hearing any disturbing truth. Our minds must be closed off to knowing any un-settling truth. We should not to see one another as we really are, for if true love has no eyes then the moment weakness enters our sight and sin crosses our vision, love die's. All relationships -- husbands and wives, children and parents, neighbors and friends, young and old, rich and poor, Caucasians and people of color, God and His people, Jesus and His Church -- must be attending a masquerade ball where people dance to the rhythm of denial. For as people say, "Love is blind." So many people, go through life wearing masks and engaging in a dance. They build their marriages on the foundation of infatuation not information because "love is blind". They maintain friendships by playing games not by grace because "love is blind." They present themselves to people dressed in emotional clothing that covers their scars because "love is blind." They even lie to each other about the ugliness, pain and suffering in their hearts because "love is blind." They live their entire existence convinced that if people saw them as they really are they whould never love them the way they want to be loved because after all "love is blind." Then they wonder why 50% of marriages fail, even in the Body of Christ. They question why their relationships remain shallow while their heart still hurt.
