'Blindspot' Season 2 Premiere, Spoilers: Who Lives And Comes Back For Jane? Hunt For Shepherd Is On! - Parent Herald

"Blindspot" Season 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. The hunt for is also on for Shepherd, the leader of the extremist group where Jane was a former member. Yahoo confirmed the date of the "Blindspot" Season 2 premiere via an NBC press release. "Blindspot" Season 2 has yet to resume filming with the actors, but the writers are already back in at work. Spoiler TV reports some of the story ideas for the upcoming season will have Jane's life threatened as she will be "shot by Cade. " It should be recalled that the character was pivotal to "Blindspot" Season 1 as it provided more background story to who Jane was before she became an FBI asset. Viewers may remember that Cade was also part of the extremist group, but he was booted out of the team by Jane. She believed she killed Cade in the episode "Older Cutthroat Canyon," which aired on March 28 in "Blindspot" Season 1. But Cade actually survived his encounter with Jane, per TV Guide. Meanwhile, Spoiler TV also reports that Jane will be hunting for Shepherd in "Blindspot" Season 2. When the show ended its last season, the name surfaced as the person behind the plan to destroy the world, as Parent Herald previously reported. Producers have hinted that Jane's agenda for Season 2 would be to stop Shepherd's evil plans. The show has yet to reveal who will play the character, but Shepherd is supposedly someone the team nor Jane has not encountered yet. Are you looking forward to the "Blindspot" Season 2 premiere in September. Do you think Jane would be able to stop Shepherd. Source: www.parentherald.com

What's on Wednesday: Blindspot, Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell, The Tipping Points - The Sydney Morning Herald

BLINDSPOT. The writers seem increasingly interested in giving us loads of back story and personal development, which, personally, I could do without. The good news is, they never let it get in the way of the action and have once again turned out a story that, structurally, allows for assorted D&M conversations as a natural part of the shoot 'em up. This time FBI headquarters is sent in to... ) The real kicker, though, is in the final moments when Jane realises just what her handler has got her in to. SHAUN MICALLEF'S MAD AS HELL. As the Jumbotron Counter Display reaches the final countdown – we are now just 10 days out from the election – goodness knows what madness (a) our politicians and (b) the Mad As Hell team will dish up for us this week. I suspect there is also a crack team of producers there somewhere trawling the news for those perfect WT…. moments. But what's really special is the alchemy of the process by which the raw material, the talent of the crew and the distinctive sensibility of Micallef come together to produce something that's not only hilarious, it's agonisingly true. THE TIPPING POINTS. If you feel like becoming thoroughly depressed, check out this 2013 documentary series exploring the various tipping points established by Professor Tim Lenton of Exeter University that mark the moments when our climate system becomes dangerously... Tonight our host Bernice Notenboom is in Alaska exploring what's happening to sea ice and permafrost, where a succession of experts succinctly explain exactly why the melting of both is catastrophic. There are some "what you can do" tips at the end of the hour but the prognosis ain't good. Source: www.smh.com.au

"For us, we really want to answer the majority of the mythology questions by the end of season 2, and then we have a really great idea for what season 3 is about. I know my own mind. I am able to assess others in a fair and accurate way. These self-perceptions are challenged by leading psychologists Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald as they explore the hidden biases we all carry from a lifetime of exposure to cultural attitudes about age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, social class, sexuality, disability status, and nationality. “Blindspot” is the authors’ metaphor for the portion of the mind that houses hidden biases. Writing with simplicity and verve, Banaji and Greenwald question the extent to which our perceptions of social groups—without our awareness or conscious control—shape our likes and dislikes and our judgments about people’s character, abilities, and potential. In Blindspot, the authors reveal hidden biases based on their experience with the Implicit Association Test, a method that has revolutionized the way scientists learn about the human mind and that gives us a glimpse into what lies within the metaphoric blindspot. The title’s “good people” are those of us who strive to align our behavior with our intentions. The aim of Blindspot is to explain the science in plain enough language to help well-intentioned people achieve that alignment. By gaining awareness, we can adapt beliefs and behavior and “outsmart the machine” in our heads so we can be fairer to those around us. Venturing into this book is an invitation to understand our own minds. Brilliant, authoritative, and utterly accessible, Blindspot is a book that will challenge and change readers for years to come. Praise for Blindspot “Conversational . . . easy to read, and best of all, it has the potential, at least, to change the way you think about yourself.”—Leonard Mlodinow, The New York Review of Books “Accessible and authoritative . . . While we may not have much power to eradicate our own prejudices, we can counteract them. The first step is to turn a hidden bias into a visible one. . . . What if we’re not the magnanimous people we think we are?”—The Washington Post “Banaji and Greenwald deserve a major award for writing such a lively and engaging book that conveys an important message: Mental processes that we are not aware of can affect what we think and what we do. Blindspot is one of the most illuminating books ever written on this topic.”—Elizabeth F. Loftus, Ph.D., distinguished professor, University of California, Irvine; past president, Association for Psychological Science; author of Eyewitness Testimony “A wonderfully cogent, socially relevant, and engaging book that helps us think smarter and more humanely. This is psychological science at its best, by two of its shining stars.”—David G. Myers, professor, Hope College, and author of Intuition: Its Powers and Perils “[The authors’] work has revolutionized social psychology, proving that—unconsciously—people are affected by dangerous stereotypes.”—Psychology Today “An accessible and persuasive account of the causes of stereotyping and discrimination . . . Banaji and Greenwald will keep even nonpsychology students engaged with plenty of self-examinations and compelling elucidations of case studies and experiments.”—Publishers Weekly “A stimulating treatment that should help readers deal with irrational biases that they would otherwise consciously reject.”—Kirkus Reviews From the Hardcover edition.
